Sonia Calicoが、UKサウンドと中東〜アフリカンミュージックの融合を進める注目のレーベルMore Time Recordsからの2作目「Moonlight EP」のリリースツアーを発表。2021年、R&BシンガーPRINCIをフィーチャーしたTREKKIE TRAXからのシングル「Change, Reset」で話題を呼んだ、台湾が世界に誇る才能が8年振りの来日だ。

Sonia Calicoは、解散した伝説のエレクトロ・パンクバンドGoChicのリーダーとしても知られており、SXSWやSónar、日本でもFUJI ROCK FESTIVALやSUMMER SONICに出演している。
Soniaのプロダクト/DJは、UKベースやアフリカ音楽、台湾で聴かれるマンドポップや伝統的なオリエンタルミュージック、さらには日本のアニメのサウンドトラックにも影響を受けており、それらがエレクトロニクスと繊細に編み込まれる極まった精巧さは、オブスキュアでありエキセントリックにさえ映る。
作品には、差別など社会問題へのメッセージが含まれていることも多く、The Faderの「台北の新世代にダンス・ミュージックを定義する」、Bandcamp「台北のアンダーグラウンド・ミュージックにスペースを作る」、Mixmag「破天荒なプロデューサー」とメディアに評される、アジアを代表するプロデューサーとしての地位を確立した。

今回のテーマの一つが電子音楽ならば、アブストラクトとダンスミュージックの融合を提唱するFellsiusと、ベースからテクノ、レフトフィールドなど、高い次元でのエクレクティックなダンスミュージックを繰り広げるFELINEと、Soniaの共演は、圧倒的な科学と美と強烈なアトモスフィアが体験できる稀有な空間を生み出すかもしれない。

Fellsiusは、2017年にTREKKIE TRAXより「Boss House」でデビューした直後Skrillex主催のミュージックメディアNEST HQへ取り上げられ、その後も、有名レーベルを含む国内外からリリースされた作品はAlison Wonderland、A-Trak、Afrojack、Anna Lunoe、Boombox Cartel、Jauz、Zeds Deadといったトップクラスからサポートを受けてきた。昨年11月リリースの2ndアルバムはエレクトロニカ/アブストラクト作品の紛れもない名作で、今回は自曲のみのスペシャルセットでの登壇となる。
今年で活動13年を迎えるFELINEは、空気や人や環境からなにかをとらえて熱狂を生み出す特別なDJで、円熟味というにはあまりにも冒険的でフレッシュだ。

andrew、Seimei、CarpainterのラインナップはTREKKIE TRAX pres.シリーズの強力な骨子になっているのは言うまでもなく、この3者の豊潤な音楽宇宙によってこのパーティの質は保証されている。さらに今回は名門Butterzからのリリースや、Butterz ShowcaseのホストMCをつとめるグライムMCのONJUICYが加勢が決まった。

「Science and Obscurity Intersect at the Core of Electronic Music: Sonia Calico Returns to Japan After Eight Years」

Sonia Calico has announced a tour for the release of her second 「Moonlight EP」 on More Time Records, a prominent label at the forefront of blending UK sounds with Middle Eastern and African music. In 2021, she gained attention with her single 「Change, Reset」, featuring R&B singer PRINCI, released on TREKKIE TRAX. Now, the internationally acclaimed Taiwanese artist is set to make her long-awaited return to Japan for the first time in eight years.

Sonia Calico, also known as the leader of the now-disbanded legendary electro-punk band Go Chic, has graced the stages of SXSW, Sónar, as well as Japan’s FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL and SUMMER SONIC. Her productions and DJ sets are intricately woven with influences from UK bass, African music, Mandopop, traditional Oriental sounds, and even Japanese anime soundtracks—elements fused with electronic precision, creating a style that is at once obscure and eccentric.
Her works often carry messages addressing social issues such as discrimination. Media outlets have praised her impact: The Fader describes her as "defining dance music for a new generation in Taipei," Bandcamp highlights her role in "creating space for underground music in Taipei," and Mixmag hails her as "a maverick producer." With these accolades, Sonia has firmly established herself as a leading figure in Asia’s electronic music scene.

If electronic music is the theme of the night, then the collaboration between Sonia, Fellsius, and FELINE will create a rare and immersive sonic experience, merging overwhelming science, beauty, and atmosphere.

Fellsius made his debut in 2017 with 「Boss House」 on TREKKIE TRAX, quickly garnering recognition from Skrillex’s NEST HQ. His subsequent releases on both domestic and international labels have been supported by top-tier artists such as Alison Wonderland, A-Trak, Afrojack, Anna Lunoe, Boombox Cartel, Jauz, and Zeds Dead. His second album, released in November last year, is a certified masterpiece of electronica and abstract soundscapes. This time, he will take the stage with a live set exclusively featuring his own productions.
Now marking his 13th year in the industry, FELINE is a DJ who possesses an extraordinary ability to capture the energy of the environment, the crowd, and the moment, transforming them into an electrifying frenzy. His sound remains too adventurous and fresh to be labeled as simply mature.

The lineup of andrew, Seimei, and Carpainter continues to form the backbone of the TREKKIE TRAX pres. series, ensuring an evening of unparalleled musical depth. Furthermore, this time, grime MC ONJUICY—who has released music on the renowned Butterz label and serves as the host MC of the Butterz Showcase—will join the event.

With the combined forces of the TREKKIE TRAX CREW, featured artists, and international guests, this promises to be an unforgettable night of cutting-edge electronic music.
