Berlin Atonal presents New Assembly Tokyo

Berlin Atonalによる初の試みであるNew Assemblyの東京イベント・シリーズの最終日。渋谷Contactを会場に、メインフロア Studio Xでは４組の特別なパフォーマンスを用意している他、Contactルームでは東京の鬼才集団Black Smoker Recordsが実験的かつ型破りでアヴァンギャルドな混沌の音世界を作り上げます。Studio Xの目玉となるのは日本が誇る唯一無二のノイズ・レジェンドMerzbowと元Nine Inch NailsのキーボーディストAlessandro Cortiniの二人による世界初公開のコラボレーション・ライブ。二組目は、昨年末に〈PAN〉から緻密で色彩豊かなマスターピース・アルバムを放ったばかりのRashad Beckerと、先見の明を持つ日本人プロデューサーEnaによるもの。2015年のBerlin Atonalで壮観なショーを披露してくれたRyo Murakamiも、今回のイベントに戻ってきてくれます。そして、Sighaによる、より荒く、ノイジーなアンビエント・プロジェクト、A Vision of Loveのライブも日本初公開となります。今年20周年を迎えるBlack Smoker Recordsには、Berlin Atonalからの敬意を表してContactルームのキュレーションを依頼し、New Assembly最後の夜を飾ってもらえることになりました。

Sunday 19. February is the final action of Berlin Atonal’s inaugural New Assembly series in Tokyo. Contact Shibuya is the host for four live special performances in Studio X as well as a sonic fruit salad of experimental, unconventional, avant-garde selected by the legendary Black Smoker collective in the Contact room. The headline show in Studio X sees the world premiere of the new collaboration between incomparable Japanese noise legend Merzbow and Alessandro Cortini, the live electronics performer best known for his work with Nine Inch Nails. Another freshly minted collaboration commissioned by New Assembly sees Rashad Becker – in fine form following his intricate and technicolored masterpiece released last year on PAN – team up with visionary Japanese producer Ena. Ryo Murakami reprises his live show for Berlin Atonal after his spectacular show in Germany in 2015, while A Vision of Love – the rougher, noisier, ambient side-project of Sigha – explores the wrought iron mechanics of sound itself. This year sees Black Smoker Records celebrate 20 years in the business, and Berlin Atonal is honoured to invite them to curate the Contact room for the final night of New Assembly.
