アットジャズは、マーティン・アイブソン(ライナーによっては、マーティン・イヴソンやマーテイン・アイヴァーソンとの表記有り)によるソロ・ユニットで ある。英国のダービー出身。無為の青春をイギリス東北の辺境の町で過ごしたマーティン・アイブソンは90年代初期、内陸部に辿り着き、ゲーム会社 Core Designのゲーム音楽クリエーターとして、13年間、確固たる地位を築き、PC用ゲームの 「 トゥーム・レイダース 」(映画ではなく、ゲームがオリジナルです) 等の音楽を担当した実績の持ち主。 1996年に、マンティスレコードより、「STORY」をリリース、その後、1998年に、英国の新鋭ハウス・レーベルの DIVERSIONS から、赤塚不二夫氏の天才バカボンのイラストレーションのジャケットで有名となった「THAT SOMETHING」(SONY)をリリースし、NU JAZZアーチストの一人としてデビューを果たします。その後、2002年に、「Lab funk」ならびに「Lab results」をリリースし、アンダーグラウンド・ミュージックシーンの注目すべきインスピレーションのある地位を築く。 2009年に新しい章、「Atjazz Record Company」を立ち上げ、彼のトレードマーク的なサウンドをリリースし活動していく。世界を代表する音楽プロデューサー、リミッキサー、DJとし、 ヒット曲を量産してきたアットジャズ、今後は苦手な長時間フライトと葛藤し、日本のファンにもアットジャズ的な音をライブで感じてもらいたいと語る。
From his misspent youth boarding the frontier towns of Northern England, Martin Iveson arrived on the Derby scene in the early nineties, landing a job at a shiny new computer games studio by the name of Core Design, now synonymous with Lara Croft and Tomb Raider.
Not content with scoring this, one of the worlds biggest video games, Martin left 13 years later to concentrate more on his own studio environment in which to channel his musical aspirations further, and invite other musicians and producers to do the same.
The success of his early works including his first EP 'Story' led to 'That Something', which was later licensed in Japan by Sony/Kioon. With two further albums, 'Labfunk' & 'Labresults' following soon after, Atjazz is established as a distinct and inspirational voice in the underground music scene.
2009 saw Martin close his label Mantis Recordings due to harsh industry changes and from these ashes came the Imprint aptly named 'Atjazz Record Company', which has shot to great heights within the digital realm and has seen many fantastic and sought after releases including his 3rd long player 'Full Circle'. This label concentrates heavily on Martins productions and collaborations
Atjazz Record Company is a new chapter for Atjazz but with a continuation of his trademark sound.
