ホコリまみれの地下室や倉庫。そんな場所に忘れ去られてしまった日の目を見る事のない最高傑作の音楽達。それらの良質な音楽（宝物）に一筋の光と共に世界中のダンサーに捧げるDJ... それがGary AbuganとBrandon Hocuraの二人である。彼らは、Invisible Cityとして活動を開始してから、Four Tet、Daphni、Optimo、Metro Area、Kon、 Horse Meat Disco、そしてBeppe Lodaと蒼々たるアーティストととの共演を果たす。彼らが生み出す多種多様で、緻密に組み立てられたグルーヴは、彼らが世界を旅する中で発掘してきた最高のダンスフロアー・ジャムで溢れてそしてそれらのミックスはTim Sweeney主宰インターネットラジオBeats In SpaceやDr Robによるミュージック\カルチャー blog、Test Pressingにフィーチャーされています。
そして昨年はカリブ海に何度か宝探しに行ったGaryとBrandon。そこで見つけた最上級の音源を、彼らのレーベル『Invisible City Editions』よりリリースする為、彼らはそれらの音源の使用許可を取りました。その中には、Michael Boothmanの「What You Won't Do For Love」やStephen Encinasの「Disco Illusion」も含まれている。更に彼らは、Beppe Lodaクラシック「Elettronica Meccanica」や、Zambian Psych band Witchによる８０年代の音源の再リリースにも意欲的に取り組んでいる。これら多くのリリースは、DJ Harvey、Gilles Peterson、MCDE、Hunee、Phil Misonら世界を代表するそうそうたるdj達にプレーされている。
When not getting down and dusty clearing out basements and warehouses of forgotten musical masterpieces, Gary Abugan & Brandon Hocura share their treasures with dancers around the world. Since they began DJing together as Invisible City, the duo have played with Four Tet, Daphni, Optimo, Metro Area, Kon, Horse Meat Disco & Beppe Loda. Their wide-ranging and carefully crafted mixes are full of rediscovered dancefloor jams that they have unearthed on their travels. These mixes have been featured on Beats In Space & Test Pressing.
After several trips to the Caribbean over the last year Gary and Brandon have licensed several of their discoveries and favorite songs including Michael Boothman's 'What You Won't Do For Love' & Stephen Encinas' ‘Disco Illusion' for release on their label Invisible City Editions. They also reissued Beppe Loda's classic Elettronica Meccanica cassettes and two 80's unheard balearic LPs from Zambian Psych band Witch. Their releases have been supported by DJ Harvey, Gilles Peterson, MCDE, Hunee & Phil Mison.
