0才で初めてピアノに触れ2才で作曲を始めた、生粋のピアニスト/コンポーザー。日本国内だけでなくフランスやカナダでピアノと作曲を学び、ピティナグランミューズや国際ピアノデュオコンクールなどの多くのクラシックピアノコンクールにて優勝/受賞する。2006年インストバンドAnoiceのメンバーとしてボストンImportant Recordsよりデビュー。その後、ソロ名義Yuki Murataに加え、RiLF（Anoiceのメンバーとmatryoshkaのヴォーカリストcaluによるポストロックバンド）, films（Anoiceのメンバーを含む、数人の演奏家によるダークファンタジーミュージックユニット）, cru（AnoiceのTakahiro KidoとYuki Murataによるポストクラシカルユニット）, The Frozen Vaults（Yuki Murata, Dave Dhonau, Tomasz Mrenca, Harry Towell, Bartosz Dziadoszによるアンビエントミュージックユニット）等のプロジェクトにも参加し、多くの作品を自身の音楽レーベルRicco Label等からリリース。坂本龍一、小林武史、植松伸夫を始めとした多くの作曲家から高い評価を受ける。また、UKのCan Evgin監督映像作品「Internet is a Desert」の音楽をAnoiceのTakahiro Kidoと担当し、ヴェネチア国際短編映画祭で受賞。Studio Mangosteenの短編アニメーション「Li.Li.Ta.Al.」の音楽を、同じくTakahiro Kidoと担当し、ベルリンとアヌシーの各国際映画祭にてノミネート、札幌国際短編映画祭にて最優秀作曲賞を受賞。東京丸ビルグループでの日曜コンサートのレギュラーや、来場者数32万人を記録した音楽祭「ラ・フォル・ジュルネ・オ・ジャポン」での司会進行と演奏でも注目を集める。さらに、上記、各プロジェクトのメンバーとしてルイヴィトン等のCMの音楽制作に参加。ソロ名義でも国内外のテレビ番組のBGMを作曲し、編曲家としても様々なアーティストのタイトルに携わっている。
Yuki Murata is a Tokyo-based pianist/composer. Since her childhood, she had been learning various styles of piano and then studied composing music in, not only Japan, but also France and Canada. During this period, she was awarded top prizes in various piano competitions such as the PTNA Piano Competition and International Piano Duo Competition, as a classical pianist.
She debuted as a member of modern-classical/post-rock music group Anoice, by releasing their first album "Remmings" through Important Records in 2006. Since then, Anoice has released two albums and one EP on Ricco Label. In addition, she has also released two solo albums "Films" and "Home", again on Ricco Label, and a collection of releases as the member of other projects, such as RiLF (an alternative rock band formed by the members of Anoice and Calu, who is the vocalist of Matryoshka), films (a Tokyo-based dark classical music unit, featuring Yuki and other members of Anoice), cru (a modern-classical music unit formed with Takahiro Kido of Anoice), The Frozen Vaults (an ambient music unit formed by Yuki Murata, Dave Dhonau, Tomasz Mrenca, Harry Towell and Bartosz Dziadosz).
Yuki Murata has also taken charge of composing and performing for film works ("Internet is a Desert" a prize winning film at the Venice International Short Film Festival, "Li.Li.Ta.Al." a short film which received the Best Original Score Prize at the Sapporo International Short Film Festival, The Redwood National and State Parks of California etc.), events ("La Folle Journée au JAPON" classical music festival in Japan, "NIPPON VISION" of Japanese department store Isetan etc.).
