uTunes & The Thursday

大沢伸一によるラウンジスタイルパーティー"uTunes"と、週末を待てない大人達が集う"The Thursday"が合体した、毎月第一木曜日に行われるル・バロン恒例イベント。ミュージックセレクターにはいつものメンバーm-floのTaku、 Bonjour Recordsの上村真俊、林望が登場。そして今回のゲストセレクターはヒップホップ界からMINMIが参加!

This lounge-style party produced and hosted by star DJ Shinichi Osawa is a favorite of people who just can't wait for the weekend. This month's special guest is dancehall songstress Minmi, who will be joined by Taku from hip-hop unit m-flo and Bonjour Records mastermind Masashi Uemura. It's going to be soulful, funky evening.



■MINMI

大阪のダンスホールレゲエのクルー出身。1995年頃からクラブなどで歌を始める。ヒップホップイベントに参加して実力を伸ばし、2002年8月、ビクターエンタテインメントからシングル『The Perfect Vision』でメジャーデビュー。2005年、楽曲『サマータイム!!』の発表をきっかけに、トリニダード・トバゴでライブを行う。翌2006年には同楽曲がニューヨークで行われたソカ・アワードにノミネートされる。2007年3月、トリニダード・カーニバルで行われる音楽祭「MONARCH INTERNATIONAL(ソカ・モナークインターナショナル)」で女性アーティスト部門第3位を獲得。2008年6月、初のベストアルバム『MINMI BEST 2002-2008』を発売。

Minmi forged her career as part of a dancehall and reggae crew in Osaka. She began singing in clubs around 1995, making her major debut in August 2002 with the single "The Perfect Vision" on Victor. In 2005 her track "Summertime" led to her being invited to perform in Trinidad and Tobago. The following year the song was nominated for best track at the Soka Awards in New York. She won third best female artist at Trinidad's MONARCH INTERNATIONAL music festival. Her best hits album MINMI BEST 2002-2008 was release in June 2008.



■☆Taku Takahashi

DJ、音楽家。音楽プロデュースユニット「m-flo」のメンバー。Crystal KayやSoweluなどのアーティスト楽曲提供やプロデュース、国内外の楽曲のリミックス、ソロ作品の楽曲製作も手がける。

Taku Takahashi is a member of music production crew m-flo. He produces tracks for artists including Crystal Kay and Sowelu, as well as doing various remixes and solo tracks.



■上村 真俊 (Bonjour Records / OFF THE ROCKER)

代官山セレクトショップ「bonjour records」のバイヤー。常に世界最新モードのトラックをスピンし、KITSUNEのメンバーをして「彼は『KITSUNE JAPAN』だ」と言わしめた。2006年からは大沢伸一の全国ツアーサポートDJをつとめ、DJユニット「OFF THE ROCKER」として日本のBACK TO BACKスタイルユニットの第一人者としてフロアを湧かせている。

Masashi Uemura is the buyer of Daikanyama record emporium Bonjour Records. As a DJ he spins the trendiest tracks and even the Kitsune guys describe him as "Japan's Kitsune". Since 2006 he has been part of DJ unit OFF THE ROCKER, which supported Shinichi Osawa on his Japan tour.
