NIPON LEGENDS

80年代後半、日本のDJ MUSICとヒップホップの黎明期を支えたレーベル「メジャー・フォース」のファウンダーである伝説の2人、高木完とTycoon Toshこと中西俊夫が今夜Le Baron de Parisに登場します!参戦するは、次世代を担うパリのアイコニックDJジャン・ニッポンとアートディレクターとしても活躍するマユ de パンカデリックス。不変の真理(不易)を知らなければ基礎が確立せず、良き変化(流行)を知らなければ新しい展開はない。江戸時代の俳人・松尾芭蕉が残した言葉『不易流行』を音現するかのような夜です…。

Two legends, Tycoon Tosh aka Toshio Nakanishi and Kan Takagi, who in the second half of the '80s brought were instrumental in the development of Japan's DJ music scene and the flourishing of hip hop through their label Major Force are joined by Nakanishi for his very special night. They will be joined by a new generation of sonic adventures, Jean Nipon from Paris and the lovely Mayu de Punkadelix. As the great poet Basho put it: "If you don't know eternity, you won't build a strong foundation. If you don't know a good flow, there can be no evolution." These guys have their flow down, so be prepared from some hyper-evolved sounds!



■高木完 / Kan Takagi

86 年に藤原ヒロシとのユニット「タイニー・パンクス」を本格始動するのと同時期に、次々とクラブがオープンし、まさにブームの火付け役であり渦中の人となる。88年には日本初のヒップホップ・レーベル、メジャー・フォースを中西俊夫、屋敷豪太、KUDO、藤原ヒロシらと設立。スチャダラパーのデビュー作『スチャダラ大作戦』のプロデュースを成功させた。パンク出身から日本のヒップホップ牽引者の1人としてシーンを盛り上げると同時にその両方の精神とスタイルを以って独自の高木完スタイルを築いている。

Founded the unit Tiny Punks with Hiroshi Fujiwara in 1986, and at the same time many clubs opened in Japan with Takagi cited as the man who started the boom. In 1988 he founded Japan's first ever hip hop label Major Force with Toshio Nakamura, Gouta Yashiki, KUDO, and Hiroshi Fujiwara. He was the producer behind hip hop group Scha Dara Parr's hit debut album "Scha Dara Parr's Big Strategy". From a punk background he went to being the leading figure in the Japanese hip hop scene and is a legendary figure in the music world.



■タイクーン・トッシュ aka 中西俊夫 / Tycoon Tosh aka Toshio Nakanishi

1987年に工藤昌之、屋敷豪太、藤原ヒロシ、高木完とともに『DJ MUSICを世界に向けてアウトプットする』をモットーに、レーベル「MAJOR FORCE」を設立。プロデューサーとして活動する傍ら、自らもTYCOON TOSH & TERMINATOR TROOPSとしてCDをリリース。同レーベルはTINY PANX、THE ORCHIDS、CHAPPIE ECD、スチャダラパーなどを輩出している。92年より拠点をロンドンに移す。2003年帰国。野宮真貴との新プロジェクト「Plastic Sex」を皮切りに国内での活動を再開している。



■ジャン・ニッポン/ Jean Nipon

Institubes 所属。ハードコアバンドのドラマーから1997年DJに転向。日本の文化やポップアートに精通しており、日本に一年間滞在していたことも。 KATAPULT(カタプルト:ミニマルテクノをパリに広めたレコードレーベル)へのアーティスト参加を通じてDJ WETと出会い、TEAMTENDO(ティームテンド)というバンドも結成している。コカ・コーラボトルのデザインを手掛けるなどデザイナーとしての一面も見せる傍ら、毎年パリで開催されるモンスターパーティー「PANIK」や、名門クラブParis ParisのレジデントDJを務め、7時間に及ぶDJセットは有名。。

Toshio Nakanishi, aka Tycoon Tosh, was founding member of Plastics in 1976 at the age of 20. In 1987 he established record label Major Force with Masayuki Kudo, Gota Yashiki, Hiroshi Fujiwara and Kan Takagi with the slogan "let's transmit DJ music to the world". They were among the first people to bring hip hop to Japan. Recently he released unreleased cuts on a CD called Tycoon Tosh Major Force London Years. He is a guitarist and percussionist, an artist and graphic designer and was greatly admired as a painter by Jean Michel Basquiat.



■マユde パンカデリックス / MAYU de PUNKADELIX

ファッションの広告やカタログのヴィジュアルを中心にアートディレクターとして活動するMAYU。アパレルブランドやレーベルなどのPRを手がける TOKOと遊戯型プロジェクトPUNKADELIX(パンカデリックス)を結成している。DJにおいてはテクノ、ハウス、エレクトロを中心に、太く品良く時に破壊的なダーク&ポップなスタイルを武器にマイペースに活動している。

An art director for fashion ads and catalogs, Mayu teams up with fashion PR TKO to form resolutely non-serious DJ unit PUNKADELIX. Mayu also plays solo, mixing an irreverent blend of techno, house and electro, producing a fat, classy sound with a destructive, dark pop edge.
