■N Dea Davenport / エンディア・ダヴェンポート(The Brand New Heavies)

UKアッシドジャズファンクバンド界で話題のThe Brand New Heavies(ザ・ブランド・ニュー・ヘヴィーズ)の歌姫。ソウルフルなボーカリストであり、ソングライター、そしてプロデューサーの顔を持つエンディア・ダヴェンポート。故郷アトランタを離れ早い時期にロサンジェルスへ移った彼女は、最盛期にあったL.A.アンダーグランドクラブシーンを舞台に活躍の場を広げる。Fab Five Freddy(ファブ・ファイブ・フレディ)との偶然の出会いを機に、レコードレーベルThe Delicious Vinylと契約を結び、同レーベルに所属するThe Brand New Heaviesでリードボーカルを務めるようになる。ロンドンへ移り、The Brand New Heaviesの『Never stop('91)』の大ヒットによってスターダムを駆け上がることになった彼女は、アッシドジャズムーブメントのキーパーソンと目された。1995年、アメリカに戻ったエンディアはソロ活動を開始。Mos Def、Everlast、DJ Krush、 Guru (Jazzmatazz)、 Natalie Merchant 、Daniel Lanoisといったアーティストのような大御所ミュージシャンのバックでキャリアに磨きをかけた。現在はニューアルバムの制作に向けて活動中。

The soulful voice of vocalist/ songwriter/ producer N Dea Davenport first gained fame as the front woman for British Acid Jazz funk band, The Brand New Heavies. Hailing from Atlanta, she moved to Los Angeles at an early age and became involved in the city's burgeoning underground club warehouse scene. A chance encounter with Fab Five Freddy led to her being signed to The Delicious Vinyl record label, on which she released her debut long-player. When the same label signed The Brand New Heavies, N'Dea was invited to collaborate as lead vocalist. She relocated to London and became a key figure in the birth of the Acid Jazz movement. In 1995, N'Dea returned to the US, where she continued to develop her solo career, collaborating with various artists including, Mos Def, Everlast, DJ Krush, Guru (Jazzmatazz), Natalie Merchant and Daniel Lanois. Davenport is currently developing and performing new material for a new album.



■KATSUYA

青森県生まれ。十代のころにhip hopに影響を受け、音楽活動を始める。高校卒業後上京し、jazzベーシストとして活動を始める。その後、ライブ・セッションなどの音楽活動などを続けながら、幅広いジャンルで国内・海外のアーティストへの楽曲提供、サウンドプロデュースを手がける。

Born in Aomori Prefecture, Katsuya was influenced by hip hop in his teens and began his journey into the world of music. After graduating high school he moved to Tokyo and began his career as a jazz bassist. After that he continued his musical activities, including playing for live sessions and composing songs for a wide variety of artists of different genres from all over the world.

パンク出身でありながら、長年日本のヒップホップ牽引者の一人としてシーンを盛り上げると同時に、その両方の精神とスタイルを持ち合わせた独自のスタイルを築いている。これまでに出会った人々、風土、文化、そして歴史からインスピレーションを得て、心で聴く音、言葉にならない感情を音楽で表現するアーティスト。

DJ Watarai produces tracks and does remixes for major Japanese hip hop unit Nitro Microphone Underground and various artists. His works is famed for clearly defined melody lines and a high-energy vibe.

■DJ Silverfox aka Emanuel Bingo / DJ シルバー・フォックス aka エマニュエル

DJ Silverfox エマニュエルは、約27年前にロンドンのソーホーのクラブLa Beat Routeでナイトライフ場面の彼のキャリアを始めました。 日本に動いた後に、彼は、人気があるバーOdeon東京でレジデントDJ勤めています。

Emanuel Bingo, aka Emanuel, aka Keith Emanuel Deans began his career in the nightlife scene 27 years ago at a club called La Beat Route in London's Soho some 27 years ago. After moving to Japan he became the resident DJ at popular bar Odeon Tokyo.
