EDGE Thursday

クラブイベントの新潮流、その名もEDGE。ご存知カッティング.エッジからネーミングされたこの新しいイベントは、玄人も唸る先鋭的な音楽で訪れる人々の五感を刺激する。DJには増田啓晃、フレイザー・クック、岡沢高宏やRYOといった最高と最良を熟知したメンバーが登場。Le Baron De Parisを舞台に音楽の本質に迫る！



■増田啓晃 (CAUSE)

CAUSE主宰。シューズデザイナーというカテゴリーにとらわれず自由な発想を持ち合わせ、最近では国内外問わず様々な人気ブランドとのコラボレーションを果たす一方で、デザイン企画やイベントプロデュースなど多方面でも活躍中。また、90年初頭から始めたDJとしても頭角を現し、ハウスミュージックをベースにソウル、ジャズ、ダブを織り交ぜたプレイでダンスフロアを心地良い空間に作り上げる。



■フレイザー・クック (NIKE)

80年代後期、ソーホーのThe Brainなどでヒップホップやファンクをベースに活躍したDJ。Gimme 5とともに当時ニューヨークで流行りだったジャズ・クラブのRonnie Scottsでパーティーを主催する傍ら、様々なジャンルが交錯するエレクトリックなサウンドをいち早く世に提示した稀代の天才プロデューサーJames Lavelle手掛けるMore Wax創立メンバーの一人として注目を浴びる。イギリスはもとより東京でも知られた存在で、ラジオステーションサムライFM(samurai.fm)の番組Study Mastersを担当している。



■岡沢高宏 (CLS)

1975年東京都出身。クラシカルなストリートウェアを提案し続けるCLSディレクター兼Cycle co. Ltd.代表。素材、機能性を重視した都会的な洗練されたウェアを提案し続ける一方、環境や社会への還元も積極的に取り入れるなど独自な視点での活動を目指す。また、mizuno falcomやlevi's@FLUといった老舗ブランドとの共同プロジェクトを始め、台湾のR.PM NETWORKをパートナーにオーガナイズを手がけたショップ『THE COMPLETE STUDIO』なども手掛けるなど多岐にわたって活躍している。



■リョウ (HEAD PORTER)

渋谷The ROOM でのマンスリーパーティー「5 Color Disc」で DJとしてのキャリアをスタートさせ、DJ Hiroaki MasudaやDJ Kojiroと共に、渋谷microcosmosや代官山AIRをはじめ、国内各地のパーティーに参加。唯一無二のDJスタイルでリアルダンスミュージックを創りだしている。現在は主に渋谷Koaraで行っている自身のレギュラーパーティーRhapsody でプレイ。





Edge is a new type of club event. Radical sounds from innovative music creators are guaranteed to stimulate your senses. Le Baron de Paris is the venue for this cool and happy throw down, which those who have an ear for quality music are sure to enjoy.



■Hiroaki Masuda (CAUSE)

Hiroaki Masuda is the man behind sneakers brand CAUSE, but he’s much more than just a shoe designer. Recently he has been orchestrating various collaborations with popular brands from Japan and overseas as well as designing for other firms and producing events. Masuda has been DJing since the early ‘90s. His sound is rooted in house music, but also incorporates soul, jazz and dub to create a sophisticated vibe that never fails to move the crowd.



■Fraser Cooke (NIKE)

In the late ‘80s, Fraser was a key figure in the hip hop and funk boom emanating from SOHO’s The Brain. He threw parties with the Gimme 5 crew at Ronnie Scott’s and ran with James Lavelle’s Mo’ Wax crew, which developed strong links with the Tokyo scene. He also runs the Study Masters show on samurai.fm.



■Takahiro Okazawa (CLS)

Born in Tokyo in 1975, Takahiro Okazawa is the director of CLS, a label that produces classical street wear, and is also the man behind Cycle Co., Ltd. While he continually creates sophisticated urban clothes that stress the importance of fabrics and functionality, he strives to give back to the environment and society to the best of his ability. He has undertaken collaboration prjects with such revered brands as Mizuno, and Levi's@, and also produces THE COMPLETE STUDIO, a store run in conjunction with Taiwanese firm R.PM NETWORK.



■Ryo (HEAD PORTER)

Ryo began his career at the event 5 COLOR DISC, which is held regularly at The ROOM in Shibuya. He plays alongside DJ Hiroaki Masuda and DJ Kojiro, at venues including Microcosmos and AIR. He has an inimitable DJ style that creates truly dance-able sounds. Currently he plays most often at Rhapsody, a party held at Koara in Shibuya.
