インタラクティヴな演出でアートと音楽の融合を試みるBcc:Holiday

Bcc:Holidayは、ナイトクラブという立地では初の開催となった蜷川実花氏のフォトマッピングやAtom™のライブセットなどエクスクルーシブな夜を展開することをコンセプトに不定期にAir、Contactにて開催されてきた。
今回フィーチャーされるアーティストはVladislav Delayとして名門Raster-Notonからアルバムをリリースしヨーロッパでは確固たる地位を確立するSasu Ripattiの新しいプロジェクトRipattiの新しいライヴセット「Hyper Beats Bass Rap」を世界初でローンチ。昨今Sly&Robbieのツアーに参加するSasuはメジャー／インディーを問わず国内外のヒップホップやレゲエアーティストに楽曲を提供し裏方に徹した活動を展開。その影響もあり極上のベースミュージックにラップのボイスサンプルが入る現在のセットを作ることになった。
また、カリフォルニアのプロスケートボーダー／ペイントアーティストであるMark GonzalesによるTokyo Silk Screenの特別展示を一夜限りで開催。彼の代表作を大判の和紙にシルクスクリーンプリントを施して展示する。スケートボーダーとしての類稀な才能が創出する表現の磁場で生み出されてきた彼のアートワークは、剃刀の刃のようなウィットと深い洞察力に満たされ、カリスマティックで魅惑に富んだ彼の精神性そのものを象徴するようだ。
2人の奇才による音楽とアートの融合を楽しみに訪れてほしい。

Bcc:Holiday invites Ripatti to form an interactive amalgam of art and music.

An artist that has established himself through albums for electronic music powerhouse Raster-Noton under the Vladislav Delay moniker, Sasu Ripatti makes the world premiere of his Hyper Beats Bass Rap live set here at Contact. Recent years have seen him joining Sly & Robbie's tours and dedicating himself to working behind the scenes to contribute his productions to hip-hop and reggae musicians, be it major, indie, domestic, or international. The result is a brand new set with rapping that punctuates exquisite bass-heavy off-kilter beats. Also featured is a special Tokyo Silk Screen exhibition by Californian professional skateboarder and paint artist Mark Gonzales, whose representative collection is silk-screen-printed over Japanese traditional Washi paper just for the night. The talented skateboarder has created artwork with a distinctive touch that symbolises his beguiling yet charismatic aesthetic, expressing his razor-sharp whit and deep insight.
