Skrillex、RL GRIMEと並びベースミュージックシーンのビッグネームとして知られ、 第59回グラミーでベスト・ダンス/エレクトロニック・アルバム賞を獲得したFlumeとEmohによって結成されたオーストラリアのユニット “What So Not” がついに初来日!2015年にFlumeが脱退し、現在はEmohがソロで活動を行っているが、Flume脱退後も人気は衰えることなく、2016年も話題に富んでいた。 8月にはGTAとの異色コラボが成立し、11月にはSkrillex、RL GRIME、What So Not というシーンを揺るがす最強コラボによるトラック「Waiting」を公開。その他にも様々な楽曲をリリースし話題を呼んでいる。
また、アメリカ合衆国 カリフォルニアの巨大フェスティバルCoachella2017への出演も決定しており(4/14-16、4/21-23の2週に渡って開催)アルバムがなんとこのCoachellaに合わせてリリースされるとの噂も! ファンが待ち焦がれていた最後の大物がゴールデンウィークの東京でついに初来日を果たす!
What So Not, associated with artists like Skrillex & RL GRIME, performing in Tokyo during Golden Week for the first time ever!!!
I’m sure you’ve seen the name “What So Not” along with big artists like Skrillex an RL GRIME. Grammy award winner for the best dance/electronic album award, “What So Not” will be performing in Tokyo for the first time ever! Originally, “What So Not” consisted of two members, Flume and Emoh. Although Flume left the group in 2015, Emoh continues to go on strong releaseing EPs and hit singles on his own.
“What So Not” has done many collaborations in the recent years― collaboration with GTA in August as well as a collaboration track titled “Waiting" with Skrillex and RL GRIME in November. On top of the collaborations, “What So Not” has been surprising bass music lovers with impressive releases.
He will also be performing at Coachella 2017 along with other big name artists. (Coachella: 4/14-16 and 4/21-23 two weekends in a row) He announced that he will also drop his anticipated new album around this time as well! Don’t miss out on “What So Not” this Golden Week in Tokyo!!!
